We thought it might be fun to introduce different groups of staff at Canyon Creek Elementary.
Putting a face to the names helps make a community stronger!

5th Grade Teachers

What would your students be surprised to find out about you?

To learn a little about these educators, we asked them, "What would your students be surprised to find out about you?"

  • Ms. Vaughan - I guess I will say that most people don't know that I enjoy crocheting and sewing.
  • Mrs. Larson - I know all of the words, both the lines and the songs to Annie (the Movie). In fact I have a secret dream to play Ms. Hannigan on stage someday even though I actually love kids! Another fun thing- I got 2nd place in my elementary school spelling bee, I misspelled the word "rhythmically" to be disqualified.
  • Mrs. Brown - I didn't realize that I wanted to be a teacher until I was in my 20's. Instead, as a child I wanted to be a paleontologist (discovering new dinosaurs) and the first woman president!
  • Ms. Johnson - I once stood at the edge of a 2,000 foot cliff on a hike called Preikestolen. It was VERY scary for me!
  • Mr. Henderson - My students would be surprised to find out that he used to get into trouble a lot in school for talking to his friends during work time!
