To kick off 2022, we had our first membership meeting over Zoom on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022. Take a moment to review what happened at our meeting.
Our guest presenters were representatives from Northshore School District. Information was presented about the three funding measures which are on the February 8th, 2022 ballot. Voters in the Northshore School District will have an opportunity to vote on an Educational Programs and Operations Levy, Technology Levy, and a Capital Projects Bond. Ballots are expected to arrive in late January. Ballots must be postmarked or dropped in a local ballot box by 8 pm on Tuesday, February 8th.

Barby Taheri, Nancy Tangen, and Patricia Buchanan were voted in as our 2022 Nominating Committee (NOMCOM). They are tasked with finding candidates for the 2022-2023 Canyon Creek PTA Executive Board. If you are interested in becoming a part of the PTA leadership team next year, or know someone you think would be an excellent fit, be sure to reach out to the Nominating Committee at nomcom@canyoncreekpta.org. Canyon Creek PTA Membership Committee reported that we currently have 324 members and have received the WSPTA Platinum Growth Award and the WSPTA 100% Staff Membership Award! We are very appreciative of all our members’ support. If you haven’t yet joined this school year, it’s not too late to become a member. There will be a drawing for a $25 Amazon Gift Card for all members who join by Monday, January 31st, 2022. Learn more about the drawing and how to become a Canyon Creek PTA member.
The 2022 Awards Committee has been formed. The committee will be seeking nominations for this year’s Golden Acorn, Outstanding Educator, and Outstanding Advocate awards. Watch the newsletter, website and social media in the coming weeks for more information on how to nominate candidates from our Canyon Creek community that you think should be recognized for the 2021-22 school year.
We have partnered with Uncle Peteza’s for two Family Pizza Nights on Tuesday, February 8th and Wednesday, February 9th from 5pm to 9pm. 20% of sales from Canyon Creek PTA supporters will be donated to our PTA. Learn how your purchase can help raise money for Canyon Creek PTA.
