Coyote Fun Run 2016

Now that pledge packets are arriving in homes, there have been some more questions about our Coyote Fun Run fundraiser. We've put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions to try and answer some of these.

Coyote Fun Run FAQs:

Q: My family can't attend the fun run. Can I still donate?

A: Even if you can't attend the fun run, you can still donate, and so can other family members and friends! Donations can be made by check (to Canyon Creek PTA), cash or online. Your child should have come home with a Fun Run Packet which includes donation receipts and information on corporate matching. Is your company on the list provided? Online donations can be made with PayPal through the following link:

Q: If my family isn't available to attend the Fun Run, why should I donate?

A: The Coyote Fun Run is the Canyon Creek PTA's main fundraiser of the year. The PTA has created the event to raise most of the money needed to support the school year. The goal of one large fundraiser is to avoid multiple small fundraiser throughout the year(magazine sales, candy sales, wrapping paper sales etc.). The money raised provides many important school programs that are not otherwise funded. A few examples of those programs are:

  • Art Docent
  • National Geographic Subscription
  • Field Trip grants
  • Razkids
  • Science Night
  • Playground equipment
  • IXL Math Program
  • Books, books and more books
  • Pioneer Discover Apps.
  • Sensory Kits
  • LC, OT and PT  Mainpulatives
  • Running Club

Q: What is all the hype about the Coyote Fun Run and what happened to the Walk-a-thon?

A: Due to district policy changes, fundraising events like walk-a-thons are no longer allowed during the school day. So we've decided to take a new approach and created Coyote Fun Run. Through it, we hope to raise money for our PTA and also help build community at our school.

Q: Why do I need to RSVP and how do I RSVP?

A: We are asking families to RSVP their participating students to allow our PTA, Jamba Juice, Popcorn Coordinator, Sponsor and community tables to be adequately prepared for the event. If you forget to RSVP you CAN still attend the Fun Run. You can RSVP(YES or NO) at:

Q:  Are there volunteer opportunities?

A:  YES! There are many ways you can volunteer to support the Fun Run. Do you have a teenager needing community services hours? They can volunteer too! You can signup to volunteer at:

http://signup.com/go/6N25M2

Q:  How far is the Fun Run and does my child have to run?

A:  The Fun Run will be at the Skyview JHS Track. The students will have 30 minutes to run, walk, jump, skip or hop(or whatever else they come up with) around the track. Laps will not be counted. The goal is FUN!!!

Q:  Are there specific times when each grade level runs?

A:  The plan is to divide participants by grade level into corrals. The 6th graders will go first starting at 10:15 a.m., followed shortly after by 5th and so on. The goal is to get the bigger/faster kiddos started first so that they are not running over or having to dodge around the younger ones.
