Upcoming School Board Meetings

All residents are welcome to attend regular board meetings. The board provides a public comment period at the beginning of each meeting. During public comments, individuals may address the school board. Those interested in speaking should sign up prior to the meeting on a sheet available at the back of the board room.

School Board meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month at 4pm and the fourth Monday of the month at 7pm.  They are held in the Dr G.E. Ricketts Board Room in the Northshore School District Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell, 98021.  Past meetings can also be viewed online at nsd.org.

 

 

Angst Movie Screening & Discussion 

On Thursday, January 16th, there is a special FREE screening of the documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety” at the North Creek High School Theater at 7:00 p.m.  The event will feature a viewing of the  film (presented in English with Spanish subtitles), followed by a moderated discussion. The film is 55 minutes long and appropriate for ages 10 and up.

"Angst" producers, Scilla Andreen and Karin Gornick, have one goal: to start a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. Through candid interviews, they utilize the power of film to tell the stories of many kids and teens who discuss their anxiety and its impacts on their lives and relationships, as well as how they’ve found solutions and hope. The film also includes a special interview with Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and one of the greatest athletes of all-time. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, along with the help, resources and tools available to address the condition.

WSPTA FOCUS DAY 2020

Join the Washington State PTA in Olympia to meet your legislators. Let’s show our legislators that our parents and students support excellence in education. Focus Day will be held in Olympia on January 20, 2020.

During each year’s legislative session, Washington State PTA holds its annual Focus Day that brings members together at the state capitol to advocate for the association’s legislative platform. This year we will begin at First Christian Church located at 701 Franklin St SE.

The Focus Day program will begin at 9:30 am with an introduction to the day and information focused on the 2020 legislative session and end at 3:00 pm.

Threads & Treads

Threads & Treads is a FREE clothing store for families in the Northshore School District located at Located at Canyon Park Middle School. Threads and Treads provides Northshore families free, quality donated clothing for school age youth, teens, young adults and parents. Clothing items include: school-appropriate clothing for the school day and special events, sportswear, shoes, and accessories. All NSD families in need of clothing assistance are welcome to shop each month for 3 outfits, and school event attire.

Threads & Treads Needs Donations!  Threads and Treads accepts new or gently worn, fashionable clothing from sizes 5T to adult. Clothing items that are consistent with school dress-codes, special occasions and professional work place attire are preferred. Donations can be brought to the main office of Canyon Park Middle School during the school day or directly to the Threads & Treads portables on Wednesdays during open hours.
