All residents are welcome to attend regular board meetings. The board provides a public comment period at the beginning of each meeting. During public comments, individuals may address the school board. Those interested in speaking should sign up prior to the meeting on a sheet available at the back of the board room.

School Board meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month at 4pm and the fourth Monday of the month at 7pm. They are held in the Dr G.E. Ricketts Board Room in the Northshore School District Administrative Center, 3330 Monte Villa Parkway, Bothell, 98021. Past meetings can also be viewed online at nsd.org.

Northshore School Board invites parents and community members to meet with them and talk about district areas of focus during Conversations with the School Board.
Join us (Bear Creek PTA, East Ridge PTA & Northshore Council PTSA) for a unique opportunity for all Northshore School District parents/guardians – an evening with the highly sought after local speaker, Dr. Laura Kastner, as she presents a talk on "Purposeful Parenting: Creating Balance & Calm through Student Changes & Pressures." The presentation will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Woodinville High School Theater (19819 136th Avenue Northeast, Woodinville, WA 98072).
Dr. Laura is a clinical psychologist and professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. This lecture will discuss positive parenting techniques on how to help our children create balance amongst school and life changes. She believes that students can be resilient and successfully face anxiety, stress, pressures, and challenges with balance and support from their parents. Parents can learn to build skills for their own well-being as well as that of their students!

On December 8th, Northshore Fire and NEMCo will be hosting a FREE 2-hour workshop that teaches community members the life-saving techniques of Stop the Bleed, Hands Only CPR, and how to use an AED. Pick a time that works best, the workshop will be offered at 8:00am, 10:00am or 12:00pm at the Northshore Fire Department, 7220 NE 181st St Kenmore, 98028.

Join us on Monday, December 9, 2019, in the Northshore Middle School Library starting at 7pm for a special presentation that will help you navigate and understand your student's special education rights. Scott Raub, Special Education Parent & Community Liaison, Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), will present and then answer questions about the "Notice of Special Education Procedural Safeguards for Students & Families"—a document provided to families at IEP meetings.
This event is for parents/guardians and interested community members. If there are questions you know you want answered, please submit them ahead of time to specialed@northshorecouncilptsa.org so we can be sure they are addressed.
You are encouraged to bring your copy of "Notice of Special Education Procedural Safeguards for Students & Families" (the booklet given at IEP meetings). The booklet is also available for download on the OSPI website and is available in multiple languages (including Arabic, Chinese, Khmer, Korean, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukranian, and Vietnamese):

Threads & Treads is a FREE clothing store for families in the Northshore School District located at Located at Canyon Park Middle School. Threads and Treads provides Northshore families free, quality donated clothing for school age youth, teens, young adults and parents. Clothing items include: school-appropriate clothing for the school day and special events, sportswear, shoes, and accessories. All NSD families in need of clothing assistance are welcome to shop each month for 3 outfits, and school event attire.
Threads & Treads Needs Donations! Threads and Treads accepts new or gently worn, fashionable clothing from sizes 5T to adult. Clothing items that are consistent with school dress-codes, special occasions and professional work place attire are preferred. Donations can be brought to the main office of Canyon Park Middle School during the school day or directly to the Threads & Treads portables on Wednesdays during open hours.
Parents whose income falls within specified guidelines, set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, should apply for free or reduced-price meals for their students. Families must re-apply each year for the school free and reduced-price meal program. Applications for Northshore School District for the 2019-20 school year are available on the NSD website -- available in English & Spanish.
