Election of PTA Executive Board Members

We want to thank everyone who reached out and asked questions about the open positions. We are thrilled to announce that we have nominees for all three of our open executive board positions.

Nominees & Statements

Please find the nominees for each position as well as their statements as submitted in their self-nomination.

• For Treasurer
  • Radhika Bhartia - "I am a mom to a first grader in Ms. Barton's class. Really amazed at the wonderful work by the Canyon Creek PTA and want to help out and be part of the PTA. I chose this position as I have a background in taxes, and can help out. If chosen by the PTA, I promise to do my best. Thanks, Radhika" 

• • Patricia Black - "I am originally from North Carolina, but have lived in Georgia, Los Angeles and now finally Washington. I have an extensive background in Accounts Payable, and General Ledger Accounting, and am currently working towards my CPA. My daughter will start Canyon Creek in the Fall of 2022, and I want to assist my community in any way possible."

• For Secretary
  • Priya Mistry-Patel - "I am the current Treasurer but I would be much better fit to be secretary. The treasurer role is great but unfortunately due to my work, I'm unable to commit to the timeline for financials. As a secretary, I can assure you I will be present at all meetings, I can take accurate and precise notes and whatever else this role."
• For Vice President: Programs
  • Suzanne Subbarao - "This is our family's second year at Canyon Creek. I have two sons (2nd grade and 6th grade) and a very excitable labradoodle. Our family has been in Bothell for 4 years. I love reading, being crafty, and spending time outdoors."

How to Vote and Teller Committee

We have one contested position (Treasurer, with two nominees) so voting will occur using an electronic ballot. 

• Only current 2021-2022 Canyon Creek PTA Members are eligible to vote.
  • Not a PTA Member? Become one today so you can vote!
• All votes will be kept confidential.
• Electronic voting will end on Monday, December 6th at 8:00pm.

Our PTA President has appointed a Teller Committee. This committee will be responsible for reviewing the electronic ballots, confirming PTA membership for each ballot, and producing a report that will be presented at the Special Membership Meeting on Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30pm.

Official Results

We will be holding a Special General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30pm, to officially elect the new executive board members based on the electronic ballot vote. This will be a short meeting with the results of the election, a President Report, as well as a few other important updates.
