Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

We had 30 submissions for our pumpkin decorating contest this year!

Kindergarten & 1st Grade

1st Place: Scared Chicken by Shrvya S. (Ms. Burns' 1st grade class)
2nd Place: Cinderella's Cart by Jahnavi M. (Ms. Axtell's 1st grade class)
3rd Place: Mr. Silly Willy by Gleb V. (Ms. Barton's 1st grade class)

4th & 5th Grade

2nd Place: Upside-Down Angry Face/Person by James B. (Ms. Brown's 5th grade class)
3rd Place: Day of the Death Pumpkin by Avni K. (Ms. Wong's 4th grade class)

Thank you to EVERYONE who submitted their creations.

We will update the article with the winners once they have been selected. 

We invite all Canyon Creek Coyotes to show their creative skills using art to bring their pumpkins to life. You can paint your pumpkin, give your pumpkin a fun face, or turn your pumpkin into a spooky creature. You can decorate with any materials you have around the house. Some adult help is okay, but goal is to celebrate student creations.

• Contest will accept submissions from Monday, October 11th to Wednesday, October 27th.
• Deadline for submission is Wednesday, October 27th at 6pm.
• Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 30th!
  
  

Contest Rules

• One entry per student.
• Pumpkin may be carved, painted and/or decorated with props and materials you may have around your home. Contest is for student creations, however some adult help is okay.
• Pumpkin will be judged on appearance and originality.
• Entry forms with photos must be submitted by Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 at 6pm.
• Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 via Canyon Creek Facebook page and in the November 5th Coyote Howler Newsletter.
• All entries must be family friendly. The judges reserve the right to reject any entries which may be inappropriate.
• One prize and certificate will be awarded to the 1^st place winner in each grade category. Certificates will be awarded to 2^nd and 3^rd place.
• Grade categories will be:

• K-1
• 2-3
• 4-5
• Photos must only include decorated pumpkin. No students or identifying information in photo, please.
• By entering this contest, the participant gives permission to Canyon Creek PTA to use photos for newsletter, social media and website. 
• Judge families are not eligible to win any prizes.
• All entries will be featured in an online gallery at www.canyoncreekpta.com. 
  
  

How to Enter

Between Monday, October 11th and Wednesday, October 27th at 6pm, send email to SharePhoto@canyoncreekpta.org with the following:

• Attach the pumpkin photo (MUST be only of pumpkin - NO students in photos)
• Student Name
• Grade/Teacher
• Parent/Caregiver Name
• Email
• Title of Pumpkin

All entries will be featured in an online gallery at www.canyoncreekpta.com. 
Reminder - only ONE entry per student!

Judging

• Judging committee of 3 – 5 PTA members, selected by event chair, will judge pumpkin photos.
• Judging will take place on Thursday, October 28th & Friday, October 29th.
• Judges will select a 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place winner from each of the three grade category (K/1, 2/3, 4/5).
• Judging will be based on appearance and originality.
  
  

Prizes

• $10 Menchie's gift card & certificate to the 1st place winner of each grade category (K/1, 2/3, 4/5).
• $5 Menchie's gift card & certificate for 2nd and 3rd places in each grade category (K/1, 2/3, 4/5).
