Canyon Creek PTA would like to welcome your family to our school community! Our mission (displayed at the top of the website) is to serve our school and community by supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment. We do this by providing after school enrichment programs, bringing art to every classroom through are Art Docent program, hosting fun evening events and more!
One specific program that is aimed directly at incoming kindergarteners and their families is our Kindergarten Playdates! We arrange a number of play dates over the summer intended to get kindergarteners to meet each other, play together and hopefully make friends before school starts - making those first weeks of school easier!! Also, for parents to meet other incoming kindergarten parents and maybe exchange info and have their own playdates - and get to know other families that will be at Canyon Creek!! We will have a few "expert" parents at the events to help answer questions about the basics of how things work, etc.
Here is our schedule for the Summer Fun Playdates:
Please know that cancellations may occur due to inclement weather (heavy rain or extreme heat) OR poor air quality due to smoke. Check back here or on our Facebook Events for updates.
We are hosting these playdates at the Canyon Creek Elementary playground. It will be summer, so we recommend entering at the playgroup entrance at 212th & 33rd (west of the bus loop). Look for our "Canyon Creek PTA Welcomes You" sandwich board on the street outside the playground gate. Once through the gate, head to the playground. We will be setup just past the portables on the left.
We will not have access to restrooms on the school campus, so please plan accordingly.
Per district policy, everyone should plan to wear masks and distance as much as possible. Parents will be expected to monitor their children to ensure they are following the rules. If you don't have a mask for everyone who attends, you will need to leave the event.

Another idea for information is to sign up for our weekly PTA newsletter, the Coyote Howler. (Weekly all school year...just occasionally in the summer.)
