In Northshore school district, we have early release Wednesdays. These are days when students are released 1 1/2 hours early to allow for teacher planning, collaboration & meetings. Most Wednesdays of the school year are early release days.
The other exceptions to the normal release time are for elementary conferences - there are 5 days in November and one day in February (noted with an "e" on the school district one-page calendar) where elementary schools have early dismissal for conferences. These early dismissal for conferences are ONLY for elementary school. Middle school and high school students are release at their regular dismissal times on these days.
*Note that elementary early dismissal for conferences applies to ELEMENTARY schools only. Middle and high school maintain their regular scheduled dismissal time.
