The Taste of Canyon Creek was on Friday, November 15th. We are very excited about how the Food & Literacy event went. We had a great turn out for both the FOOD and the LITERACY portions of the evening!
We started the evening with food! We had a wonderful assortment of tasty items from all around the world - with around 20 different volunteers providing samples! We had the cafeteria setup with tables around the outside - with table cloths on them and flags across the front of each!

Then we moved on to the library where we had the literacy portion of our event, with special guests who read stories from around the world. The students were invited to sit up with the reader while parents and other guest sat and listened to the stories. About 1/2 way though the hour of reading, the 3rd-5th graders were invited to move to a classroom to listen to books meant for a slightly older audience, while the younger kids stayed and listed to more stories on the rug in the library!
