Our PTA coordinates a group of volunteers who assist the Librarians at Canyon Creek. We call this group of Library Assistants, our "Library Brigade"!
The goal is for EVERY class at the school to have a Library Assistant EVERY week, which allows the Librarians to spend more time with the children, reading to the class, helping each child to pick out just the right book for them, or helping them with the computers (older grades).
The Library Assistants will help with:
If you love books & children, and are looking for a volunteer opportunity to help with your child's class-- this may be the perfect job for you! The library is regarded as a wonderful volunteer experience for both parents & grandparents - or anyone else excited about helping kids learn to love books.
Library Assistants are required to make a once a week or every other week commitment, although if you are unable to make a class, no problem, just let me know and I'll organize a sub. Please choose both slots available if you would like to volunteer every week.
