FREE PARENT & EDUCATOR EVENT

Parents and educators are invited to attend "Creating and Maintaining Inclusive Schools" with Dr. Julie Causton, 7-8:30 pm., Jan. 4, at the Northshore Performing Arts Center.

This dynamic and interactive presentation is for all parents and educators who provide educational services and are interested in creating and maintaining authentically inclusive schools in which all students are valued and have access to meaningful education in the general education setting.

Dr. Causton has spent the past 20 years studying best practices for inclusive education and as a former elementary, middle, and high school special education teacher herself, she knows firsthand how inclusion leads to better outcomes for students. Dr. Causton will discuss many strategies related to changing mindsets about students with disabilities, increasing expectations and student engagement, and maximizing learning for all students. Participants will learn from real-life examples and evidenced- based best practices to understand how to more effectively support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within the context of inclusive settings and school communities.

***This is a free event. No RSVP required, but it will help us keep track.
