Advocacy Week kicked off on January 29th with Focus Day. Advocates from all over WA went to Olympia, including Canyon Creek PTA President Robin Zaback, to meet with legislators and deliver postcards from parents and community members that could not attend. Where: Northshore Performing Arts Center
Community members and families are invited to join the screening and community discussion of "Black Girl in Suburbia," which looks into the experiences of black girls growing up in predominately white communities. Sponsored by the Northshore School District Equity and Diversity Committee, this event is appropriate for children grades 4-12. Admission is free and limited childcare is available. All residents are welcome to attend regular board meetings, which are on the second Monday at 4 p.m. and the fourth Monday at 7 p.m. of each month. Meetings are usually held in the Dr. G.E. Ricketts Board Room in Northshore's Administrative Center.
