Our 2nd PTA General Membership meeting was last Tuesday. Here are a few highlights from the meeting:

• Chorus Performance: We had a FULL HOUSE because of the exciting performance we had from the 4th & 5th grade chorus, lead by Ms. McLain! They did an awesome job and we all very much enjoyed the break from business as usual.
• We have a few exciting events coming up:
• Taste of Canyon Creek is Friday, November 15th, 6-8pm
• Savvy Parents Safe Kids is Tuesday, November 19th, 6:30-8pm
• Spelling Bee - Registration is ending on Wednesday, November 20th - word lists will be distributed to registered families before Thanksgiving Break.
• Canyon Creek PTA Helping Hands Program is collecting items for Thanksgiving Meals for families in need at our school on Monday, November 25th, 8:45-10:30am
• Pastries & Principals is Friday, December 6th, 9:10-10am
• STEM Hour of Code is Tuesday, December 10th - signup will be coming out soon!
• Membership Update:
• Membership Goals: 500 members  and 100% Staff Membership
• Current Numbers: 386 members total 
• Staff: 73 staff members have joined as of today.  We only need 3 more staff members to join for 100%. 
• Gifts of Membership/Scholarships 
• FAMILIES: We have provided 7 gifts of membership to families that have requested them. We have 14 memberships available. Please spread the word. We don't want cost to be a barrier to obtaining membership. A person can request a membership scholarship by contacting Jenn Snyder at membership@canyoncreekpta.org or Sue Hanson in the Canyon Creek Main office.
• TEACHERS: Thanks to generous families we have provided 32 teachers and staff members PTA memberships. We have 23 available. We will carry over any unused memberships to next year.
• Our 2nd Fall Membership Incentive Drawing was held- for PTA Bingo Night Reserved Table & Family Package! The winner is Prasanna Kumar Thimmareddy. Congratulations to our winner!! 
• There are MANY more interesting tidbits - you can review them in our meeting minutes after they are approved at the January 21st meeting. 

We hope you will consider joining us for our next PTA General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, January 21st! We will again have a "social time" before the meeting, from 6-6:30pm, with little treats and opportunity to chat with other parents. These meetings are an opportunity to hear about all the programs and events coming up, maybe learn about things you didn't know we do, etc!!
